Handig Q&A for Confluence
Internal questions and answers that live in your Confluence spaces, and an importer that brings your current Q&A app along.
Get started
- Install Handig Q&A from the Atlassian Marketplace. It is free for sites with up to 10 users.
- In Confluence, open Apps → Handig Q&A.
- Moving from another Q&A app? Import first, before you uninstall the old app.
Ask a question
Choose Ask a question, pick the space it belongs to, write a short title and the details, and add one or more topics. The question is stored in that space as Confluence content, so everyone who can view the space can find it, and nobody else can.
Answer, vote and accept
- Answer under the question. Answers belong to the question and follow its space permissions.
- Vote an answer up or down. Each person has one vote per answer; click again to take it back.
- Accept the answer that solved it. The person who asked and the space admins can accept or un-accept an answer.
Find answers
The Handig Q&A page lists recent questions, unanswered ones, and everything on a topic. Topics are Confluence labels, and questions are Confluence content, so the normal Confluence search finds them too.
Import from another Q&A app
Handig Q&A imports from Questions for Confluence and from Questions & Answers by EliteSoft: questions, answers, accepted answers, vote counts, topics, and the original author and date of each item.
- As a Confluence admin, open Confluence settings → Import from another Q&A app.
- Choose the app you are moving from. For EliteSoft, also choose the space the questions should go to: EliteSoft keeps them in a space of its own.
- Run the dry run. It shows how many questions and answers will move and how many were already imported.
- Start the import. Large imports run in batches; keep the page open until it says it is done.
- Check a few questions, then remove the old app.
Imported items show "Originally asked by … on …" with the original author and date. Running the import again never creates duplicates, so you can import once now and once more just before you switch.
Import before you uninstall the old app. When a Q&A app is uninstalled, Confluence removes access to its data, and nothing can import it any more. If you need time, suspend the old app instead: a suspended app keeps its data for 60 days after its subscription ends. Questions & Answers by EliteSoft runs on Atlassian Connect, which reaches end of support in January 2027, so import from it before then.
Languages
Handig Q&A follows each user's Atlassian language: English, Dutch and French.
Your data
Handig Q&A runs on Atlassian Forge with no outside servers. Questions and answers are Confluence content; votes and accepted answers are in Atlassian's Forge storage. The app stores Atlassian account IDs only, never names or e-mail addresses. Details are in the privacy policy.
Uninstalling Handig Q&A
Uninstalling removes the app's questions, answers and votes. To keep them while you decide, suspend the app instead.
